The Ballad of The Bush Leagues

The Ballad of The Bush Leagues is a satirical epic poem written by Est Nyboer during the presidency of George W. Bush. It is intended as a stage piece to be performed by two actors against a backdrop of entertaining White House photos.

The illusion of fast-fleeting history is both sustained and confronted by the Narrator who struggles to maintain a positive outlook on his president. The President clears up any ambiguities with his straight-talkin' wisdom.

Somewhere between Homer and Dr. Seuss, The Ballad's entertaining combination of journalistic immediacy and poetic density leaves audiences wondering how so much could have happened so quickly.

It seems like only yesterday that Dubya was out of the fire and into the coals but he's been out of office since 2008! In the interim, President Donald Trump ran roughshod over Dubya's legacy as the most baffling president of all time. What will happen next?
