Author's Statement
This 2nd term... what a grind!
Despite the fact that so much is happenning I'm going numb. Is it sensory overload or fatigue or denial or have I succumbed to the siren song of government propaganda?
I will not relent. The second term marches on. Let the captives rejoice!

The Ballad of The Bush Leagues, Chapter 6
2002, A Very Good Year
Say what you will of our fair leader's quirks
He cannot be faulted for shirkin' his work.
As November's election quickly approaches
He shows enough vigor to outlast the roaches.
He fuels up Air Force One
To campaign like has never been done.
Stumping and boosting on most of the coasts
With scarcely a minute to choke on his toast.
I dutifully voted and now sit at ease
Smoking a pipe while I watch the TV.
I monitor returns as they move along the crawl
And pack another bowl as I watch the donkeys fall.
For Dubya's relentless campaigning has won
An historic vict'ry for Republicans.
Both Houses of Congress are now on his side
A bicameral elephant for Georgie to ride!
It prob'ly won't make any difference
Since he already does as he wishes.
September 11 scared them all straight
Turned the government into his bitches.
But not to worry for 2003
Cuz Junior means to keep the peace!
Let's Auld Lang Syne until next time
I recitate this lengthy rhyme.
